MACPAC Releases HCBS Utilization Report and Fact Sheet

Late last week the Medicaid and Chip Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) – the official government body which analyses Medicaid data and policies for Congress, the Administration and the states – issued a report and fact sheet on Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) utilization.

The report covers:

• HCBS demographics;
• Medicaid spending for HCBS users; 
• HCBS use and associated spending.

In its conclusion, the report lays out recommendations for future research, including identifying populations based on similar characteristics and more detailed subgroup analyses.
