Mark Your Calendars: Nov. 20 Webinar on How Banks Can Better Serve People with Disabilities

Our members who support people with disabilities in their everyday activities, such as maintaining their finances, might be interested in this webinar by the Center for Disability-Inclusive Community Development (CDICD), which will be held November 20 from 3-4pm ET.

As written by CDICD:

“The Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) requires banks to effectively deliver retail banking services in low- and moderate-income (LMI) geographies and to LMI individuals. Yet, recent findings from NDI’s analysis of the FDIC Survey of Unbanked and Underbanked Households reveals that people with disabilities, who are disproportionately LMI, are three times as likely to be unbanked as those without disabilities and have a significant unmet need for credit.

This webinar will present results of the survey – supplemented with findings from a series of focus groups conducted with people across the spectrum of disability – and discuss opportunities for banks to better address the needs of this population.
