As reported in an earlier article last month, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) held a listening session on the overtime rule to “gather views” on its overtime rule. For the convenience of our members, ANCOR is sharing an article written by the firm Fisher-Phillips which lists the questions DOL asked at that session. According to the article, DOL staff revealed little of what to expect with any changes to the rule that DOL could propose.
Secretary of Labor Alex Acosta has long discussed the need to update the rule, albeit in less dramatic ways than in 2016. ANCOR has been heavily engaged on this issue, having submitted comments in response to DOL’s 2017 Request for Information on the overtime rule and making the 2016 proposed changes the focus of our Save Our Services campaign. We have been tracking developments on this issue throughout 2018 and will continue to keep our members informed.
