President Officially Nominates Gene Scalia for Secretary of Labor – First Senate Vote this Week

For weeks, Administration-watchers have been monitoring Gene Scalia as the potential nominee for the Secretary of Labor position following the resignation of former Secretary Alex Acosta. President Trump had tweeted his interested in Gene Scalia, and officially followed through with a formal nomination this week. Gene Scalia is the son of the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, developing a long career record in the private sector.

The Senate Health Education Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee has scheduled Scalia’s nomination hearing in the Senate for this Thursday, September 19 at 9AM ET. You can watch the hearing live.
