RAISE Family Caregivers Act Introduced

U.S. Representatives Harper (R-MS), Castor (D-FL), Lujan Grisham (D-NM) and Stefanik (R-NY) introduced H.R. 3579 , the RAISE Family Caregivers Act this week. The bill would require federal agencies to develop a national strategy to offer family caregivers the support and recognition required, including of their diverse needs. This strategy would include how the federal government can promote greater adoption of person- and family-centered care, and assessment and service planning, among other supports. Additionally, the bill would create a Family Caregiving Advisory Council consisting of appointed and federal members. ANCOR has been a longtime supporter of this legislation. Read the full bill here.
