Senate Passes Lifespan Respite Act, Sends to House for Final Vote

The Senate passed its own version of the Lifespan Respite Care Reauthorization Act with a few changes from the version the House passed last summer. This means the bill will be sent back to the House for a final vote before being sent to the President for his signature. The changes appear to mostly be a formality and at this time we are confident this will not affect passage in the House. ANCOR has supported long the Lifespan Respite Act because it offers funding to support respite services for family caregivers whose loved ones have disabilities. Access to respite supports allows caregivers to make time for their own health and well-being without affecting the well-being of their loved ones.
