The Senate Remains Quiet on Build Back Better Act

Congress is back in session, but the Senate has yet to shift its focus to working on the Build Back Better Act. Instead, this week Senator Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has committed to moving forward voting rights legislation and holding a conversation over potential rule changes regarding the filibuster.

But, even if there is little momentum on the Build Back Better Act this week, advocacy efforts to reach out to Senators remain important. Now is the time to take action and make clear to your Senators that the nearly $150 billion investment in the Medicaid Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) program as part of the Build Back Better Act passed by the U.S. House is critical to stabilizing the direct care workforce and ensuring people with intellectual and developmental disabilities receive the services they need. Tell your Senators to support funding for Medicaid HCBS through the Build Back Better Act!
