Senators Urge GAO to Study Barriers to Health Care Facing People with Disabilities

Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), Chair of the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, joined a letter led by Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) to the Government Accountability Office (GAO) requesting that the agency conduct a comprehensive, wide-ranging study examining the persistent barriers that people with disabilities of all backgrounds experience in accessing health care, including access to medical treatment, services and equipment. Senators Bob Casey (D-PA), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Sherrod Brown (D-OH) also joined the letter.
