Two “Don’t Miss” Disability Employment Announcements by DOL: Webinar on Barriers and Solutions; Request for Comment on Data Collection

ANCOR is sharing these two items from the Department of Labor (DOL) because many of our members help people with disabilities find employment and these topics are directly relevant to their work.

Request for Comment on Compensation and Employment Activity Data, Deadline June 11:

“The US Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) published a request for public comment on an information collection request (ICR) related to the Section 503 Focused Reviews.  OFCCP is seeking comment specifically on the most efficient way for federal contractors to provide compensation and employment activity data by disability and protected veteran status.

Collecting this data is a new effort with the potential to highlight pay disparities for individuals with disabilities, and to encourage contractors to reduce any pay gaps they may find.”  ANCOR members seeking to submit comments can find the full notice and link to comment here. The deadline to comment is June 11.

Workforce Innovation Webinar – May 15 from 2:00-3:30 PM ET

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration will present a webinar on “Moving Forward: Innovative Disability and Employment Service Delivery,” featuring members of the Workforce Innovation Cohort on Disability and Employment. The Cohort launched with 18 states from across the country to address disability and employment issues. The state and local teams were comprised of a cross-section of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) core and required program partners and other key stakeholders that focused on accessibility, customer service, and employer engagement. In this webinar, Cohort members will highlight the barriers and solutions to disability employment service delivery within the American Job Center network.
