Two More Strategic HHS Staff Changes

ANCOR is sharing these items by Politico Pro on staffing changes at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) because it is important for our members to stay informed of who key policy players are on healthcare. 

Congressional Liaison Departs:

“Matt Bassett, the HHS assistant secretary for legislation, will leave the agency this summer after serving as its go-between with Congress.

Bassett, who joined HHS in February 2018, cited family commitments in a statement announcing his departure.

Bassett led the department’s interactions with Congress on numerous hot-button issues, including how HHS has cared for migrant children separated at the border and the administration’s regulatory efforts to pare back Obamacare.”

New Advisor on Value-Based Models:

“BRENDAN FULMER to join HHS as an adviser to the secretary for value-based reform, working under Adam Boehler, POLITICO’s Rachel Roubein reports. Fulmer, whose first day is April 29, previously was a senior legislative assistant to Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.).”
