U.S. Representative Goodlatte Introduces Bill Prohibiting P&A Class Action Lawsuits Against ICF-IIDs

On September 12, 2018, U.S. Representative Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) introduced a bill, H.R. 6768, which seeks to prohibit class action lawsuits instituted by Protection and Advocacy agencies (P&A) against ICF-IIDs. This legislation follows a March 2018 hearing held by the U.S. House of Representative Judiciary Committee’s Sub-Committee on the Constitution and Civil Justice.

ANCOR has been monitoring this issue since February 2018, when we first became aware of it and attended the subsequent March hearing. We will continue to keep members informed of new developments.
