White House’s Budget Request Expected February 12 At Earliest

Every year as part of the budget process, the President is expected to send Congress the White House’s Budget request for FY 2019, a document which serves to highlight the President’s priorities and wish list. This year, the White House expects to send the request to Congress at the earliest by February 12. The White House budget request is not a binding document, as under the Constitution Congress is responsible for authorizing and appropriating funding and this includes issuing its own budget proposal. However, it is an informative document on where the President wishes to see federal resources directed and it can give helpful insight into Administration priorities. As such, ANCOR will be analyzing it and reporting back to members when it is issued.
