UCP National’s Mission is to promote the independence and inclusion of people with cerebral palsy, intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities through our network of affiliates and partnerships.
UCP educates, advocates and provides support services to affiliates to ensure a life without limits for people with cerebral palsy as well as people with a spectrum of disabilities. UCP and its Affiliate Network have a goal to advance this mission by providing the services and support to more than 176,000 children and adults every day, one person at a time, one family at a time.
UCP works to enact real change, impact public policy, revolutionize supports, raise standards of living and create opportunities, impacting the lives of millions living with disabilities. For more than 75 years, UCP has worked to ensure the inclusion of individuals with disabilities in every facet of
society. Together with individuals with disabilities, their allies, parents, caregivers, community partners, legislators and corporate citizens, UCP will continue to push for the social, legal and technological changes that increase accessibility and independence, allowing people with disabilities to dream their own dreams.
Job Description Summary
The successful CEO candidate will provide dynamic, executive leadership to UCP and, in partnership with the Board of Trustees, enact and implement a strategic vision to support, strengthen and expand the affiliate network and create positive impactful change for people who live with disabilities. Candidates must have skills to move the organization forward and to motivate a diverse network of affiliates to grow and thrive.
Duties will include:
- Championing and communicating UCP’s mission and relevance;
- Maintaining and expanding UCP’s role and position as a respected authority on all matters related to disability;
- Protecting the UCP brand;
- Building retention and growth of the affiliate network; expand the footprint of UCP across the country;
- Ensuring financial stability and growth;
- Engaging, communicating and collaborating with the Board of Trustees, as well as affiliates, community, corporations and governments; and
- Overseeing the organization’s day-to-day operations.
The CEO will be responsible for accomplishing and fulfilling all goals and objectives as established by the UCP Board of Trustees and contained in the organization’s strategic plan. Defined measurable objectives will be established with timelines and reporting requirements to assure accountability to all identified UCP stakeholders.
Skills
- 8-10 years of Executive leadership experience. Experience with influencing public policy, strategic planning, Board management, government relations and marketing.
- Ability to enhance and expand corporate and foundation relationships to further the mission.
- Proven track record of budgetary and fiscal management, as well as retention and growth in a non-profit organization.
Education
- Bachelors Degree required or Masters Degree preferred.
