Position Summary

The VP, Finance is responsible for day-to-day financial operations. This job requires strong analytical and technical abilities and demands fast but carefully thought-out results. Strong leadership and control of the work process from beginning to end are necessary. The VP oversees operational tasks such as payroll set up, financial reporting, budgeting process, risk management, and financial analysis. Accuracy and completeness are highly valued in this role. The VP, Finance leads the Accounting and the Revenue /Reimbursement Departments.

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required.
• CPA or CPA Candidate.
• At least ten years of experience in the financial function of a company is required including managerial accounting and financial management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Thorough understanding of and personal involvement with systems and methodologies of finance and administration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Preferred Education and Experience
• Master’s degree in a business, financial, or related field.
• Merger and acquisition finance experience.
• Experience working in a rapidly growing environment.
• Experience working in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities and behavioral health.
• Experience with Sage Intacct and EMR software.
• Experience with CMS and Managed Care organizations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• In collaboration with other executive staff, leadership team, and skilled and trusted departmental employees, develops, implements, operates, maintains, and controls the company’s essential operating systems, information, and financial & business services.
• Assists executive and leadership teams in financial planning and results management.
• Operationalizes key performance indicators and strategic objectives for the divisions and, as appropriate, the entire organization.
• Drafts and implements policies and best practices to support achievement of objectives and required standards.
• With BPO Department, creates business plans for new products, services, and markets.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices, including but not limited to tax laws, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), federal acquisition regulations (FAR), and cost accounting standards (CAS).
• Regularly reviews financial performance with program and corporate departments and makes recommendations to CFO for improvements, evaluation of programs’ sustainability, and other business needs.
• Maintains knowledge of developments and trends in finance and administration including technological advances.
• Supports professional development of team members.
• Fosters and supports a collaborative team environment, both internally with the team and outwardly facing with stakeholders.
