Karina Forrest Perkins Named President & CEO of Volunteers of America Minnesota & Wisconsin
Volunteers of America Minnesota and Wisconsin recently welcomed Karina Forrest Perkins as its new President & CEO. The hiring announcement included a Q&A with Karina. Below is an excerpt from that interview.
Q: What message do you want partners, supporters, and the community to hear from you early on?
A: My message is simple: this work is sacred, and you are an integral part of it. I come to this role with a passionate belief that community is not something we serve from a distance, it is something we build together. I believe we are at our best when we bring together voices across sectors, faith perspectives, and lived experiences to solve what no one can solve alone. Whether you are a part of the communities we serve, a donor, a partner, a team member, or simply someone who shares our hope for a more compassionate world, you belong in this story. We will only meet the scale of the challenges and opportunities ahead if we face them side by side.
