Members of the Therap Services team recently returned from the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2026 in Las Vegas. CES is one of the largest consumer technology conventions in the world, with over 140,000 attendees. We want to highlight some of the technology and themes from the conference that can help ANCOR members substantially improve the quality of support they provide to individuals.

Advances in Accessibility

New accessibility tools are redefining independence in the community and at home. The NaviCane, an AI-powered smart cane, provides real-time terrain and hazard analysis for visually impaired users, while the MaaS-Bridge (Mobility-as-a-Service) platform uses AI to create safe, accessible pickup and drop-off points for wheelchair users. Even home maintenance is becoming more inclusive with the Roborock Saros Rover, a stair-climbing vacuum that helps individuals maintain their homes with greater autonomy.

AI, AI, and more AI

Artificial Intelligence was a standout subject among exhibitors, with a particular focus on “Agentic AI.” These systems function as personalized agents, capable of managing complex workflows and summarizing real-time data. While this technology offers incredible potential to reduce the administrative burden on Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), it also introduces new responsibilities.

As providers, it is critical to perform rigorous due diligence regarding data privacy and security. We’ll be diving into what providers should consider when selecting AI tools to work with at our National Conference this February. If you’re not able to attend, please reach out if you have any questions about incorporating AI into your workflows.

Proactive Care Through Smart Health Technology

We also observed a distinct shift from reactive monitoring toward proactive wellness at CES. Devices like the Withings Body Scan 2 are moving beyond simply measuring weight, BMI, and body composition. These tools are starting to flag early signs of health decline or mobility risks before they become emergencies, allowing providers to proactively adjust supports and improve long-term outcomes for those they support.

Therap Connect is our dedicated solution for integrating “CES-level” smart technologies—including insights from Withings and other advanced sensors— directly into providers’ daily documentation.

The innovations at CES 2026 prove that the future of support is already here. Therap is committed to ensuring your agency is ready for it. From data security to interoperability, we provide the foundation you need to adopt these new tools with confidence. If you’d like to chat about how to incorporate these technologies into your agency’s workflows, feel free to reach out to us!
