Therap Services firmly believes that businesses can support our society during the COVID-19 pandemic with enhanced product/service solutions. Thus, Therap continues its operations globally while maintaining the guidelines for prevention of COVID-19 spread.
The health care workforce needs to be able to work remotely with efficiency and accuracy to provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). For this reason, Therap has continued to add enhancements to its suite of applications for facilitating HIPAA-compliant electronic documentation and reporting to assist the agencies in Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) and other Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) settings. COVID-19-specific features have been introduced within the Therap software in a timely manner to assist with the challenges of providing health care support to individuals with disabilities.
Therap facilitates COVID-19 specific documentation amid the global pandemic. It is essential to track the impact of COVID-19 among individuals with I/DD, as well as their caregivers. The Staff/Visitor Log Questionnaire Form is a tool that can be used to track the health risks of COVID-19 among staff and visitors who provide healthcare services to the individuals.
Furthermore, users can monitor and report individuals for COVID-19 symptoms using the Vital Signs and COVID-19 Diagnosis features under the Health Tracking module. New COVID-19 specific templates are also available in Therap’s Global Libraries to support documentation for individuals. New ISP Program templates and Care Plan templates ensure that correct practices are being adopted as well as appropriate care management is being implemented to protect individuals from COVID-19.
Incidents of COVID-19 among individuals with I/DD can be reported in detail using Therap’s COVID-19 GER/Incident Reporting feature. ‘COVID-19’ option is now available as a Subtype under the ‘Communicable Disease’ Event Type in the General Event Reports (GER) module. Moreover, details related to the incidents can be added such as Contact/Exposure, Symptoms, and more, in order to easily monitor the individual’s condition. This feature accommodates state-specific reporting guidelines to ensure accuracy and accountability in providing services. Additionally, Therap has incorporated changes in the Billing and Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) modules as a response to COVID-19 according to the updated state-specific regulations.
During these times of social distancing, the necessities and conditions of individuals need to be communicated effectively on a regular basis. This is why the Therap software also supports secure staff communication and assures sensitive information related to individuals (Protected Health Information, PHI) remains confidential at all times. Therap tools available for communication include T-Logs, Splash Messages, Signup Agreement and S-Comm.
To conclude, Therap understands the need to support its users extensively during this COVID-19 crisis. Therefore, Therap users have emergency preparedness tools, checklists and questionnaires, state-specific documentation and support, tools for telehealth/virtual visits and more application features at their disposal. Therap COVID-19 Awareness page contains up-to-date guidance materials and videos to support all health care providers during this pandemic.
