Employee Recognition & Awards Are Important

Employee recognition and awards play a valuable role in recruitment and retention. While we continue to work toward a Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) and better pay for direct support professionals, recognition and awards can be ways to bestow honors, bonuses and perks. Of course, keeping track of all that so it’s clear and concise means using some sort of platform to ensure it’s all organized.

A thread has started with a lot of great tips and sharing of resources on various platforms. From custom email templates to gamification to gift cards and other swag, our members are sharing the various resources they use to make sure their staff are recognized, celebrated, and rewarded.

Searching for Human Resources Solutions

As the fiscal year comes to a close, ANCOR members have been sharing results and referrals for the various Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) they use. Every organization is different, so solutions can vary depending on staff size, needs, and organizational structure.

Thankfully, our “big tent” community brings together a wide range of providers that can provide robust feedback, no matter the need. It’s a tremendous resource that can help take seemingly overwhelming tasks—like researching and/or changing foundational internal systems—a lot less complex.
