Recognizing Emergent vs. Urgent ​Medical Issues

For individuals with I/DD, even small medical events can feel overwhelming – and in some cases, life-threatening. Understanding the difference between emergent and urgent situations is more than a clinical distinction; it’s a vital tool for ensuring individuals receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

This free session, hosted by ANCOR Gold Partner StationMD, will equip attendees with practical strategies to recognize and respond appropriately to medical situations in the I/DD community. By clarifying the difference between urgent and emergent care, participants will gain tools to reduce unnecessary ER visits, improve health outcomes, and ensure timely, person-centered medical support.
