About Chad

Chad VonAhnen was appointed Executive Director at Johnson County Developmental Supports on June 17, 2013. JCDS is a county-based organization providing residential, day and employment, and case management services to over 500 individuals.

Prior to JCDS, Chad resided in Wichita, KS where he worked for Sedgwick County government for 10 years.  While at Sedgwick County his experiences included working in the Budget Office, serving as the Director of Community Relations, Director of the Sedgwick County Developmental Disability Organization and as Director of the Division of Public Safety. Prior to that, he worked for Polk County, Iowa in Youth Services for seven years. Chad served many years on the board for InterHab (Kansas provider trade association), including as past-president, and has served on the ANCOR board of directors since 2019.

A native of Des Moines, IA, Chad attended the University of Northern Iowa located in Cedar Falls, IA where he received a bachelor’s degree in Criminology. He received his master’s degree in Public Administration from Drake University in Des Moines, IA.

He and his wife, Louisa, have a daughter, Lauryn, and two sons, Bennett and Bryce.
