The 2020 COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately affected people with intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of COVID-19 on people with I/DD across the US and to educate key stakeholders to better support people with I/DD.

The research found that although people with I/DD were no likelier than members of the general public to contact COVID-19, they were twice as likely to die from COVID-19 if they contracted it compared with their counterparts in the general population.
