Close, fulfilling relationships are widely recognized as a vital indicator of a high quality of life. However, people with disabilities face more obstacles than their non-disabled peers in accessing information and relationship supports, making love feel inaccessible and inequitable.
Irrefutably, people with disabilities need more, not less, sex education and other supports to navigate anxiety or lack of confidence around communication, physical touch, and positive body image. Unfortunately, in an environment filled with budget cuts, the direct support workforce crisis, and the trend in recent years to roll back progress on comprehensive sexual health education for non-disabled teens and young adults, it doesn’t feel promising that people with disabilities and their families will also continue receiving the education they need.
Learning from presenters who are passionate about providing accessible and equitable relationship supports for people with disabilities, participants in this webinar will gain invaluable information about ways in which all communities can provide lifelong relationship supports for people with disabilities.
A recording will be made available for registrants.
