Strategies that Made Progress on DSP Wages in Rhode Island

1:00pm-2:00pm EST

In 2014, a Consent Degree from the U.S. Department of Justice created an expectation that Rhode Island ensure adequate resources to strengthen the state’s direct support workforce. In turn, this laid the foundation for advocates in 2022 to successfully advance new funding to improve DSP wages in Rhode Island.

In this FREE Direct Support Professional Recognition Week (#DSPRW22) offering, panelists will discuss the various tools and resources that helped advocates achieve success. Speakers will also detail how the grassroots efforts by Rhode Island’s provider association and collective action among a diverse range of stakeholders set the stage for a huge legislative victory: the highest-funded DSP wage to date.

A recording will be made available for registrants.
