ANCOR Submits Comments to CMS on Health Care Staff Vaccination Interim Final Rule

On Tuesday, ANCOR submitted written comments to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Omnibus COVID-19 Health Care Staff Vaccination Interim Final Rule (IFR). The comments were drafted in coordination with ANCOR members and in response to feedback received from those members covered by the CMS IFR.

The comments highlighted the direct support workforce crisis and noted a caution regarding policy changes that could further exacerbate this crisis and threaten access to services for people with disabilities. However, the focus of the comments was a request for an extension of 30 days for the written comment period and six months for the compliance requirement. The comments also requested clarification on the scope of facility staff and the implementation of the competing vaccination standards.
