ANCOR Thanks Senator Casey for Being HCBS Champion

After Congress passed the Inflation Reduction Act on August 7, members of the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate returned to their home districts for the August recess. Congress continues its recess this week.

Even though the Inflation Reduction Act—which President Biden officially signed into law last week—did not ultimately include an investment in the Medicaid Home and Community Based Services program (HCBS), ANCOR is using this opportunity to thank Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) for his tireless efforts in urging his colleagues to include HCBS funding in the legislation. In fact, before the Senate voted to pass the bill, Senator Casey used his floor time to implore his fellow members of Congress to do more to support the HCBS program.

On Tuesday, ANCOR sent a letter of appreciation to Senator Casey signed by 285 ANCOR members. ANCOR looks forward to continuing to build on the work the Senator has begun and press for policy changes to support the HCBS program and bolster services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
