Congress Begins Work, Leaves for Recess

Congress is out on recess this week. Members of the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate are in their home districts and will return to Washington the following week. Before leaving town, House Republicans began work on assigning members to top congressional committees, as well as creating two new committees: the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government and the Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party.

Committee assignments relevant to ANCOR’s work are listed below:

  • House Committee on Appropriations: Chair Rep. Kay Granger (R-TX) and Ranking Member Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT)
  • House Budget Committee: Chair Rep. Jodey Arrington (R-TX) and Ranking Member Rep. Brendan Boyle (D-PA)
  • House Committee on Education and the Workforce: Chair Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC) and Ranking Member Rep. Bobby Scott (D-VA)
  • House Committee on Energy and Commerce: Chair Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and Ranking Member Rep. Frank Pallone (D-NJ)
  • House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chair: Rep. James Comer (R-KY) and Ranking Member Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD)
