New Disability-Specific COVID-19 Vaccination Resources and Research

With vaccination rates in the nation slowing down and creating the potential to further extend the pandemic, ANCOR seeks to equip its members for conversations on the importance of getting vaccinated. In addition to previously shared toolkits, we flag the items below to help our members navigate the vaccination landscape and inform their efforts to educate lawmakers on the pandemic’s effects on the disability community.

• Centers for Disease Control and Prevention page highlighting what people with disabilities and providers need to know about COVID-19 vaccines.
• Kaiser Permante vaccine equity toolkit which “offers resources and strategies for care delivery organizations, health plans, and state and local governments to ensure everyone has access to lifesaving vaccines.”
• National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals follow up report on the experiences of the direct support workforce during the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Disability and Health Journal article on the effects of COVID-19 on people with disabilities’ lives, which could be helpful when educating lawmakers on the importance of prioritizing people with disabilities for COVID-19 vaccination roll outs.
