Katie Slade Named Executive Director of Iowa-Based Exceptional Persons, Inc.

WATERLOO, IOWA – Katie Slade was named Executive Director of Waterloo, Iowa-based Exceptional Persons, Inc. (EPI) on December 22, 2022. Slade has been with EPI for more than 14 years, serving most recently in the role of Interim Executive Director since April 2022, when her predecessor, Chris Sparks, left the organization after 24 years. Sparks is a former Director and Past President of ANCOR’s Board of Directors.

Slade’s tenure at EPI has included a number of critical roles in the organization, spanning communications, IT and organizational development. In addition to her work at EPI, Slade is a member of the ANCOR Foundation Leadership Academy’s Class of 2024.

In newsletter article announcing her new post, Slade wrote, “As I start my journey in a new role as Executive Director, I can feel the way in which I view the world sharpening. A new energy, determination…as if a fire has been flamed.” Slade acknowledges that this new energy is the cause and consequence of both challenge and opportunity. Nevertheless, she says she is “incredibly honored and humbled to serve alongside our teams who are determined to make our little corner of the world a little better, a little brighter for the people we serve.”

In reflecting on the opportunities presented by MediSked’s new partnership with CaseWorthy, Golub shared how this exciting new development “accelerates [MediSked’s] ability to deliver on [our] vision by combining resources and market strength […].
