At Therap Services, our team has researched 300+ smart technologies and worked with providers around the country on smart device implementation. This session serves as an opportunity to share some of our findings with attendees.
Consider the bed check. A staple of service provision, bed checks use considerable staff time and often interrupt sleep, while collecting relatively little information other than “Seems Asleep” or “Seems Awake.” What if the bed check could be replaced with a combination of sleep analysis sensors, fall detection monitors, and other technologies? This is one of several examples we will explore regarding the effective use of smart technology.
Attendees will learn how smart devices can improve the quality of data that is collected, save staff time, and promote both privacy and independence. They will also leave with a better understanding of what needs to be considered for these devices to be effective in the service provision context.
