Abuse, interpersonal violence, and neglect are unfortunately common experiences for individuals with IDD. Join Relias on July 18, at 2 pm ET to hear Rachel Fuller and Rachel Neumann discuss ways to recognize and understand trauma as it relates to people with IDD.

People with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) are just as likely to experience and be affected by a traumatic event as anyone else. Personal injury, natural disasters, or mass events like the pandemic can cause an individual to experience symptoms of post-traumatic stress. However, there are some types of trauma that individuals with IDD are more likely to experience. Abuse, interpersonal violence, and neglect are unfortunately common experiences in this population.

Join us on July 18, at 2 PM ET, to hear Rachel Fuller and Rachel Neumann discuss ways to recognize and understand trauma when it relates to individuals with IDD.

In this webinar, you’ll learn how to:

  • Define trauma and its prevalence among the IDD community
  • Recognize the impact of trauma among all areas of an individual’s life
  • Identify methods and importance of trauma-informed care
