Expectations Matter is an initiative of the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council that seeks to prove that people with disabilities and their families have the ability, interest and expertise to live a life of their choosing. With the right support, people can create and lead the development of processes that directly involve them, impact their lives and change the course of their services. In this online training, participants will get an introductory crash course to Expectations Matter, including its free training and resources that people with disabilities, their families, and their providers can use to engage in person-centered planning. This training is delivered by people with disabilities and family members, making it an important opportunity to see Expectations Matter’s guiding principles in practice.
