About Gabrielle

Gabrielle Sedor joined ANCOR as its Chief Operations Officer in February 2015 to assist the CEO in day-to-day operations and supervise ANCOR’s Communications, Marketing, Membership and Education teams. She was named the ANCOR Foundation Director in October 2018.

Prior to coming to ANCOR, she was the Communications Director at PAR, a Pennsylvania state provider association and ANCOR member, where she directed PAR’s lobbying, marketing and communications activities. She was an integral part of a successful campaign to restore over $24M in proposed cuts to autism and ID services in Pennsylvania’s FY2011-2012 budget, as well as a multi-year effort to change the name of the PA Department of Public Welfare to the Department of Human Service (Act 132 of 2014).

With over 16 years at PAR and 8 at ANCOR, Gabrielle has strong experience in every aspect of association management. Her accomplishments at ANCOR include growing membership exponentially through the 100% state association membership model; directing the Foundation’s three-year public relations campaign, Included. Supported, Empowered; helping to lead the multifaceted Save our Services Campaign in 2015/16, the fight to save Medicaid in 2017, and our Forgotten Faces Campaign of 2020.

She is also an active, engaged community volunteer – while in Pennsylvania, she served as president of the PA Association of Government Relations, and chaired the public policy committees of the YWCA of Greater Harrisburg and the Central PA Association of Female Executives. Here in Virginia, she represented ANCOR on the Board of the National Alliance of Direct Support Professionals (NADSP), and currently volunteers for the Northern Virginia Geocaching Organization (NoVaGo) cleaning local trails and waterways. She also coordinates weekly community events in her neighborhood of Rosemont.

Gabrielle graduated Brown University and has lived and worked overseas, teaching English in high schools and private institutions in Wroclaw, Poland; Santiago, Chile and London, England. In 2010, Gabrielle joined less than five percent of all association professionals by earning the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential, the highest professional credential in the association industry. She also holds the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate, offered by the University of South Florida as well as a Leadership Decision Making Certificate from the Harvard Kennedy School.
