The Social Security Administration (SSA) has finalized a new rule aimed at expanding access to Supplemental Security Income (SSI). This rule, announced on May 16, is designed to make it easier for people with disabilities to receive crucial financial support. The changes reflect the SSA’s ongoing commitment to removing barriers and ensuring that the SSI program reaches those in need.

These changes include expanding the definition of a public assistance household to include households receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) where not all household members receive public assistance said the SSA in a statement.
